Sandgame is a falling-sand toy for iPhone and iPad. Pour sand, water, lava and fire into an empty world and see what happens. If something's wrong, email [email protected].
Getting around
- Drag to pour the selected element. Pinch to zoom, drag with two fingers to look around, tap with two fingers to change your brush.
- The Elements button opens every element you own, by category, with search. Spout pours whichever element you choose for it.
- World settings (the slider icon) holds time, brush, look and feel, the sample world and Clear world. Clear can be undone once with Undo.
- Your world saves itself every few seconds and when you leave the app. There is nothing to save by hand.
Purchases
- The base game is free. Extra elements cost $0.99 each, or come in packs of four or five for $2.99. Any purchase also unlocks Medium and Large worlds and speeds above 1×.
- Purchases are one-time and tied to your Apple Account, with Family Sharing on. If you reinstall or switch devices, open any locked element and tap Restore Purchases.
- A pack you partly own still costs its full price; the purchase sheet tells you which of its elements you already have.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Sharing worlds
Tap the share button to save a picture to Photos or send a .sandgame file. Anyone with Sandgame can open the file, and it keeps working even if it holds elements they haven't bought; they just can't paint those until they do.
Something wrong?
- The app stalls on launch. The first launch after an update prepares the simulation for your device's graphics chip and can take a little while. Give it a moment; later launches are fast.
- My world is gone. Sandgame keeps a backup; if the world can't be read, you'll be offered Restore saved world when the app opens.
- A purchase didn't unlock. Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account that bought it, then use Restore Purchases from any locked element's sheet.
